Victorian state MP Peter Kavanagh wants Yusuf Islam formerly known as Cat Stevens, British singer to be barred from entering Australia for his support of attempt of murder against British author Salman Rushdie over his 1988 book The Satanic Verses.
Iran’s Ayatollah Khomeini issued order to all the Muslims to kill Rushdie for his book The Satanic Verses in 1989, which Stevens supported at that time and wanted to see Rushdie dead but now Stevens says he was joking. He is coming to Australia next month and makes millions from Australia what is he going to do with the millions? Is he using his earnings to promote threat and hostility to a secular and free world those who don’t share his view or belief?
Australia should keep him out from entering the shores of Australia. If he thinks Australia or western way of life and belief is bad why does he bother coming to Australia or live in the west. He should go to other countries like Iran, Syria or Libya. Hypocrite, all these people love everything western and it has to offer but speak religion, death and killing of those who do not agree and share their views.
Just like the communists, if the communists were so good, why are the people from communist countries always fleeing to the west like US, UK, Canada and Australia? Why not go to North Korea or Cuba?
Australia needs to get its priority right, strengthen national security and national interests. What is the use of increase in spending on ASIO, ASIS and other security and intelligence organisation and resource when we are overlooking and letting the threat and problems to Australia when we can deal with it right at the beginning banned the people that will harm the national interest of Australia?
Government officials and ministers should be Australian and not politicians just wanting to hold their sit for another few more years, when it comes to national security and national interests. Politicians talk about tax cut, health, education and so many things just going round and round putting a veil in publics’ eyes. Well, Australia needs security first then the tax, health, education and the rest. Without security there will be no Australia.
