Tony Abbot’s policy on boat people.
The Coalition’s plan is to immediately refuse the refugee status to those who destroy or get rid of their documents before arriving to Australia. Australian immigration officials from the immigration department have spent too much time and money just to research and find out the refugee claims of these people only making the research and findings deliberately more difficult in order to gain permanent resident in Australia.
If any person claiming to be refugee have money to travel in a boat, which wont be cheap and was able to spent certain period of time in other country or countries other than your country of origin, with no threat and able to find people smuggler than the person is pretty rich refugee, may be even richer than many Australians who are struggling just enough to meet their daily household expenses.
Australian people should let the authorities to do their job. Public of any nations, including Australia are good at sitting and making judgement and criticising and speaking their own opinion, either for or against with no accountability if anything goes wrong. But it is the authority that has to decide and be accountable for their decisions.
If you are not happy with what’s going on and happening and want to do things your way, well apply for the job, run for the Prime Minister’s office in coming federal election. Else, let the people or the department in charge do their the job. I mean the department, which means people just like you and me with opinion of their own for or against, but still doing their job first in the interest of Australia as a nation on a daily basis.
