6.9 magnitude earthquake hits Nepal

 

At least five people were killed and more than 70 injured in a recent earthquake in Nepal. 6.9magnitude earthquake hit Nepal around 6pm local time last night the 18th of September 2011. Two men and an 8-year-old girl were killed in Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal when a brick wall outside the British Embassy collapsed. Two more people were also killed in Dharan in the Eastern Nepal.
According to the report the three victims who died when the wall of the British Embassy collapsed has been identified as Sajan Shrestha, 36, Anisha Shrestha, 8, and Bir Bahadur Majhi, 19. They were on the street walking when the wall collapsed and fell on them.

Photo: Binod JoshiThe other two person that were killed in Dharan died due to injuries they sustained while running for cover and safety has been identified as Bimal Pariyar and Santosh Pariyar. Police and army has been mobilised for relief work.
