Impotent NSW Labor government, sale of electricity assets and Eric Roozendaal

TheAustralianPost.com --- NSW Labor Government the wrong government in the right state!

Impotent NSW Labor Government, sale of electricity assets and NSW Treasurer Eric Roozendaal trying to justify his half price sale of the assets. State of New South Wales has been the right state for all the wrong things sponsored by the Labor party.
This state is definitely heading on the wrong direction understate Labor government, from its MPs, budget and their leader who is more interested in the Americans than the people of NSW and flood victims. Giving away everything half price when the state is in debt.
See what Australians are saying about this Labor government and their actions:

1>More murky dealings from this lot?
I’m not sure what these assets should be worth, but the fact that so many of the directors resigned in protest gives tells me that the tax payer again comes second to political aspirations.
A rushed deal to create a $5 Billion fund for election promises will still see this government out next March.

2> 5.5 BILLION DOLLARS OF PORK BARRELS

3>The minor hitch is the ineptitude of the NSW Government. What will the $5.3bn be spent on? Retiring some of the $42bn debt or case studies for metro rail lines, variations to Barangaroo, subsidies for more tollways, hospitals with operating theatres that are too small for doctors to work in, school halls that are too small, etc?
This doesn’t even rank as a ‘fire sale’ – it’s more like an ‘insurance job’. The privatisation should never have gone ahead but if it is to be done then at least we could have got the $15bn the sales were worth and then that money should have been returned to taxpayers via one-off cash payments. After all, we are the shareholders, not the Government.
I can’t wait for the 26th March, 2011. Let’s dump Labor from every seat they hold, making sure the seats go to the coalition and not The Greens.

4>If the resigning directors had, as Roozendaal reckons, two years to consider the deal and didn’t agree with it what time did the newly appointed directors have to assess the position. What time were they appointed? What enquires did they make about the reason for the rsignations? What consideration did they give to the details of teh sale? How much due diligence did they carry out? Did they act in the best interest of their shareholders? Shouldn’t ASIC or ICAC be having a look at this? It is a disgrace, this Labor mob are a joke and treat the taxpayers of NSW with contempt.

5>I am not only shocked but also deeply ANNOYED. I am so angry at all they have done – and continue to do. Why are they not being sacked? NOW!

6>How can an unpopular, and incompetent government make such a crucial decision for the future of NSW. The fact that this Labor government has 3 months left in power, and is allowed to make a decision like this is disgraceful.
When (oh when) can the people of NSW have a “No Confidence” motion put forward on this poor excuse for a government?

7>So this is what we can expect till we can finally be rid of this Government? I hope ICAC and the NSW Police are keeping notes. They might come in handy sometime soon.
Stephen Sewell | Parramatta – December 15, 2010, 11:02AM

8>How can we get rid of this bunch NOW?
How can they be making decisions on behalf of the State (taxpayers) knowing they will not be there after March?
I wonder which boards Eric & Co will end up on once they “retire” from politics next year?
ENOUGH is ENOUGH!!!

9>I don’t understand why Eric Roozendaal thinks it’s good for NSW taxpayers to sell an assett for $ 5.2 Billion now, when a year ago he was touting that he could get around $ 14 Billion for it.

10>Not seeing anyone apart from the NSW state government call this a good deal.
Wonder what went on behind the scenes…..
