Wild weather across Victoria, New South Wales and South Australia

Wild weather sweeps across South Australia, Victoria and New South Wales with floods threatening many towns in Victoria. Most of the country areas in the northern Victoria remained submerged after flood rains. Brutal high winds in Victoria’s west coast. Although rain eased in Victoria but many towns still remained flooded and will continue for next few more days. The emergency is far from over in Victoria. It’s the worst floods in Victoria in more than a decade with 200mm of rain fall in some areas.
Severe winds in Melbourne uprooted trees and damaged buildings. Melbourne’s suburb of St Kilda recorded Melbourne’s strongest winds with the speed of up to 104km/h on Saturday night.
In NSW motorist travelling on major roads and highways were advised to caution for high winds. RTA crews clearing fallen trees and rubbish in Princess Highway between Wollongong and Bega caused by high winds with a speed up to 120km/h. Due to heavy rainfall several land slides occurred along Snowy Mountains Highway at Talbingo and Adelong towns of NSW.
