A robber was shot and killed during failed attempt robbery in Sydney’s northern beaches area. The man with another male attempted to steal cash from an armoured security van outside an RSL club on Pittwater Road, Dee Why.
Police has confirmed he was one of the two men attempting to steal money from the armoured security van at around 1:30pm. The second man believed to have shaved head and wearing a grey hooded top had escaped from the scene. According to the police he was seen heading north towards Dee Why Lagoon. He is described as being of Caucasian appearance standing about 188cm tall.
The incident appears similar to the one in Sussex St, Sydney where 59-year-old Chubb security guard, Gary Allibon of Sutherland was shot in the chest during the early morning cash delivery, the security who later died in the hospital.
