According to the poll, Australia’ Opposition, the Liberal Party of Australia is on the lead with 52 per cent as the preferred party to rule the nation. Australia will be voting for the new government on the 21st of August 2010.
Ms Gillard’s campaign has been spoiled by cabinet leaks revealing she questioned the cost of paid parental leave and a pension increase and her stabbing of her former boss and Prime Minister Kevin Rudd. Another leak emerged, this time again the issue is on national security. As deputy Prime Minister Gillard sent her bodyguard, Andrew Stark, on her behalf to attend cabinet’s national security committee meetings.
Deputy Opposition Leader Julia Bishop said the recent revelation on the leak shows that Ms Gillard is unfit to govern the nation. She also said, ‘National security committee is the most important meetings which deal with the matter of life and death and the security of our nation. Ms Gillard must confirm how many of the national security meetings she attended. And who was in charge of national security in the Labor government.’
Focusing on national security, Mr. Abbot heads north to Darwin to see the boys and girls of our Defence force.
