It’s not the navy ship but the navy itself is sinking in sex scandal. This time the report is a young female, 21-year-old Navy Able Seaman was allegedly raped abroad a mine hunting ship.
According to the report the sexual attack occurred at a Sydney naval base on the 30th of August and the incident was reported to Defence Force investigators on the 9th of September, who then notified the police.
These sorts of undisciplined defence personnel brings the standard and the reputation of the navy to the dust, he should be disciplined and charged. This navy guy surely joined the navy to serve and protect this country. How much more should he be protecting his team mates and fellow navy onboard? Instead he attacked, one of his own and raped and terrorised her, he is a terrorist.
Hope this case will not just be one of the stories of the day and all be forgotten the next day. If a fellow navy or defence personal can’t rely on and trust one of their own to help, support

Two Australian soldiers have died in a separate incident in Afghanistan, raising Australian soldiers’ death toll to 26. One soldier was shot by an Afghan soldier and the second one died in a helicopter crash.

Lance Corporal Andrew Gorgon Jones, 25, from Queensland was shot by his Afghan counterpart at a patrol in southern Afghanistan. According to Defence Force chief Angus Houston it was not an accidental shooting because multiple shots were fired and the investigation has begun regarding the incident. According to biometrics program record the Afghan soldier was not an imposter, as the defence has the details of this soldier: name, service number, service record, facial images, finger prints, iris scans.
Lieutenant Marcus Sean Case, 27, based in Sydney died after a helicopter crash in Zabul Province, about 90 kilometers from Tarin Kowt in southern Afghanistan. Five other Australian soldiers were injured in the crash. The reason of helicopter crash is not yet know if the Chinook suffered mechanical problems or was hit by enemy firepower.

Lieutenant Case was unabled to be saved while other five soldiers who were injured in the crash was taken to Role III medical facility in Kandahar to medical treatment.
The families of both Lance Corporal Andrew Gorgon Jones and Lieutenant Marcus Sean Case have been informed of their deaths.

Defence Minister Stephen Smith defended with offer of support for Tony Abbott over his remark about the incident that killed Australian soldier in Afghanistan. Mr Smith told Sky News, “I share the view that I don’t believe that Tony Abbott would say anything that was flippant or insulting or critical about an Australian soldier, an Australian soldier’s death or our contribution in Afghanistan. I share that view.”
Mr Abbott was addressing complaints made via email that Australian troops were not backed by sufficient firepower in a clash in which Lance Corporal MacKinney was killed last August in Afghanistan. But after meeting with the US officer explain that the troops were well backed and supported, Mr Abbott made this remark. To accuse Abbott of taking lightly the death of Australian soldier is bit unrealistic. But choosing suitable words like, ‘in war zone unexpected things happen,’ would have been more appropriate. I personally don’t believe he was being any disrespectful to our soldier that was killed in Afghanistan. The content of the conversation was tragedy happens in war. It all depends how you take this remarks. No one will be happy at the death or lose of your national armed force.
But, again most media and journalist are hungry for popularity and rating, so they try to rip the benefit and get as much as they can for their report coverage that could benefit and boost their popularity and everything that follows it, be it money, rating or profit.
Seven Network has come under growing criticism over the story covered on the remark made by Tony Abbott. Coalition MPs have expressed their anger at the Seven Network and have called on Seven owner Kerry Stokes to make Riley apologies for what Liberal Don Randall called, “dirtbag reporting.”
Reporters and media should cover and broadcast issues that will help public understand the situation in Afghanistan. This will definitely be appreciated by the public, instead of making no news a big silly news and the real news to no news and taking the public astray.
If media and reporters covered the issues like, what’s the current situation in Afghanistan war against terror, how are Australian soldiers what has been done for the soldiers fighting under the banner of their flag? What needs an improvement or what can be done to improve the situation, how is relationship between Australian/coalition troops and the general Afghan civilians etc? Covering real life story and situation of the troops in Afghanistan without putting soldiers life into risk will help at lot back home to the public and soldiers families.
