Body of Australian soldier Lance Corporal Jared MacKinney has come home

The body of 28-year-old Brisbane based 6th Battalion Royal Australian Regiment soldier Lance Corporal Jared MacKinney arrived home carried by RAAF Hercules aircraft that landed at the Amberley Air Force base, west of Brisbane, Queensland.
Lance Corporal MacKinney who died during the fierce battle with Taliban insurgents in the western region of Oruzgan province of Afghanistan last Tuesday was the fourth member of 6RAR and the 21st Australian solider to die in Afghanistan.
The ceremony was attended by his family, friends and members of his regiment, Chief of the Defence Force, Air Chief Marshal Angus Houston, Chief of the Army Lieutenant General ken Gillespie and Commander of the 1st Division, Major General Mick Slater and Defence Minister John Faulkner.
