Australian Commando Scott Travis Palmer Farwelled in Darwin

Private Scott Travis Palmer of Katherine, Northern Territory aged 27; one of the three Australian commandoes who were killed in the chopper crash in Afghanistan last month on the 21st of June 2010 has been remembered at his funeral in Darwin.
Private Palmer was laid to rest on Saturday at Darwin’s Anglican Cathedral. It was packed with hundreds of mourners, fellow soldiers, friends, mates and family members including Prime Minister Julia Gillard and Opposition Leader Tony Abbot.

Army mates from the fifth RAR regiment in Darwin and the Second Commando regiment in Sydney escorted his coffin and fired off a volley of shorts at the end of the service in Darwin.
