Australian Commando Aplin Farewelled and Honoured by hundreds in Brisbane

More than 500 soldiers, their families, mates and supporters have attended the funeral of Australian commando Timothy Aplin. Private Timothy Aplin was one of the three commandos who died in helicopter crash in northern Kandahar province in Afghanistan two weeks ago on the 21st of June 2010. His body was carried by his command friends into Brisbane’s St John’s Anglican Cathedral for a solemn service to acknowledge his service and ultimate sacrifice for this country of Australia.
Timothy James Aplin, 38, who died along with Private Ben Chuck and Private Scott Palmer, has been remembered as good father, husband, friend and soldier. Private Chuck was farewelled last week on the far northern Queensland and the funeral and farewell service for Private Palmer will be held later this week.
